Profile of Sandha Whiles

Having moved up from Manchester, I now realise that there is life outside of work. One of the new things I have discovered is craft. Originally, I thought I had no skills in this area, until I discovered the art of beadwork and its ethnic origins, paricularly in Africa, as I was born in Kenya.

I am fascinated by the texture of this art media, and the challenges it brings. I collect a wide variety of beads, which I consider to be my treasures, and I try and find many different ways of using them. So far I have created necklaces, earrings, Christmas baubles and beaded bags. I am always looking for new inspirations.
