Profiles of Artists exhibiting at The Beauly Gallery
Profile of Theresa Brown
Theresa was born in Cheshire in 1967. As a child, she became fascinated in the natural world after being inspired by C.F. Tunnicliffe's illustrations in a book of nature.
On leaving school, she studied for a B.Ed, concentrating on biology, with visual arts as a second subject. Although to many these may seem like quite separate disciplines in Theresa's mind one enhances the other.
After graduating, she worked as a dispenser and then became a full-time mother, although she still painted in her spare time. She also had numerous commissions from "The Goethe- Institut" in Manchester to illustrate education packs for schools.

Shortly after moving to the Highlands with her family in 2005, Theresa decided to become a professional artist. Returning to her love of nature, she has focused her artistic attention on the farming community surrounding her Black Isle home.
Her main intention has always been to capture the character of her subject or the mood of a scene and she achieves this through a variety of techniques and media, such as: lino printing, photography, pastels, acrylics, inks and mixed media.
Theresa has exhibited in galleries and at events throughout the Highlands. She is a member of the Art Society of Inverness
